How do we fight terrorism?

I'm so glad that Bush is fighting a war over there so we won't have to fight it over here. What the hell is he talking about. This is a war of idealogy not land. We can't fight over there when we're fighting for the minds of people.

How do we fight the war on terrorism? We win the minds of the people? We do things that will make them feel less like victims and more like empowered individuals in their own country.

The United States can start by not being so obviously Christian. We have "in god we trust" on our currency, and say "God Bless" after every speech. If someone other than a Christian or a Jew could be elected to a higher office we would be better off.

It may seem insubstantial, or unimportant, but it's beginning to win minds.
